The Sabbath Descends

Shabbat descends on Ginosar Valley
An ancient fragrance at the edges
The mountains stand around like best friends
To carry her golden overcoat
Doves arise from the Kinneret Sea
To receive her ardent spirit

Shabbat kisses the top of the cypress
Kisses the moss on the rock
The thorn becomes a royal scepter
On the hills the silence is chanting
The turtle dove is making a sweet sound
Delightful pleasing longing.

Shabbat trembles in her modest grace
Eyes of windows from all over
Young girls come out in the evening
To sing songs with a resounding yearning
The tenderness in Ginosar Valley became
A noble Hebrew soul.

Rak Hazman (Only time)

How empty it is when you’re not here
Walking in long corridors barefoot
Magnets stuck on the fridge, I take them off, and put them back on
I don’t try explain to others anymore, they always say that

Only time will heal
It’s like a hole
In your chest
Well that’s what they say but they don’t even know that
Angels promised this was forever
Now they aren’t answering, and even G-d is left speechless, so what could I say

In the world it’s as if nothing has happened
Turns out that even today the sun rose
I go crazy from that song that you love, when everyone is dancing, I cry
I don’t try explain to others anymore, they always say that

Only time will heal
It’s like a hole
In your chest
Well that’s what they say but they don’t even know that
Angels promised this was forever
Now they aren’t answering, and even G-d is left speechless, so what could I say

When you’re not here
When you’re not here
Why aren’t you here?

And it’s so unfair
Because there isn’t a true way to fill the void
Your name comes up even when it’s not in context because I lost a friend and and I can’t deal with it

Give me another small moment
Give me a sign
How to get through the day
They say that time
Heals everyone
And I’m still stuck in the same place

Only time will heal
It’s like a hole
In your chest
Well that’s what they say but they don’t even know that
Angels promised this was forever
Now they aren’t answering, and even G-d is left speechless, so what could I say

Goodnight little baby

For the wrong words
For the betrayed promises
For the answers not given
For the burnt desires
For the frantic runs

Who will lick away my tears
And will melt the salt in chocolate?
And who will cover my back
Against the winds in the winter?
And who will know how to talk to me with hands
Loving my folds under the seams?
And who will uncover the most obscene wrinkle
And will forgive it?

Goodnight little baby
'Cause the storms will die down
Goodnight to the little ship that sails
Goodnight to the good God too
Who doesn't care at all
Sleep tight, 'cause Christmas will come

2nd
For the sudden runaways
For my closed doors
For the stolen glances
For the lost children
For the misunderstandings

Who will keep my secrets
And never turn them into spoken knives?
To whom will I give the strength I have
To lose again, to lose again?
To whom?

Goodnight little baby
'Cause the storms will die down
Goodnight to the little ship that sails, sails, sails
Goodnight to the good God too
Who doesn't care at all
Sleep tight, the wolf won't come back

Goodnight little baby
'Cause the storms will die down
Goodnight to the little ship that sails, sails, sails
Goodnight to the good God too
Who doesn't care at all
Sleep tight, the train will wait for you

Street Cat

I am a street cat
the street was my home
I ate my bread
and drank my water in it
To survive I drew my nails

In stairs, in shelters,
on rooftops
I made my bed for the night
When dogs were barking
I hid in rubbish bins
When they stopped I continued

And today I am a tired street cat
Looking for a domesticated female cat
To curl up with her,
to be wrapped with her, to fondle
In twilight

And today I am a tired street cat
Looking for a female cat from a good home
So if you see one
Passing you nearby
Tell her there is a cat free for love

I am a street cat,
In the street I was king
But slowly through the years
The neighbours changed
And there is no one today to open a door

Between car wheels
I twisted to keep on living
More than once I saw my end coming
And when the predators chased after me
I climbed the trees
Until their anger subsided

And today I am a tired street cat
Looking for a domesticated female cat
To curl up with her,
to be wrapped with her, to fondle
In twilight

And today I am a tired street cat
Looking for a female cat from a good home
So if you see one
Passing you nearby
Tell her there is a cat free for love
