Our Tanya is in tears
She dropped her ball and now fears
That in the river it will drown
It will not, Tanya, calm down
 

I'm of silent type

You lament and groan needlessly,
Keep repeating all day long,
“You are treating me so heedlessly,
Guess our love has almost gone.”
 
I’m so gawky and unwilling,
I’m close-mouthed to absurd,
For my deep romantic feelings
I can’t find the proper word.
 
Wish we could be in the forest,
Have alone a bit of peace,
Hear the birds that sing in chorus
Just for us. For you and me.
 

Before bed

Feeble streetlights are lit up
Outside.
Sit with me,
Let’s have a chat
In the night.
 
All this evening
You did spend
Not with me.
You were rushed off your feet
As I see.
 
But you know I
Never stand
Over you,
I sit back
Like adults,
Almost mute...

Let’s have a talk

Let’s behold
The feeble lights
Outside.
 

A small boat

I dressed like a sailor,
I’m holding the rope,
Along the swift river
I pull a small boat,
The gaggle of toads
Jump closely behind
And call after me
“Captain, give us a ride!”
 

In time of war

A seven-year-old little lady
With eyes like two burned out coals.
On her child’s face you’ll notice maybe
The signs of misery and woes.
She hides from you behind the silence,
You joke with her and no reply.
As if her life is kind of timeless
And weary years she left behind.
 

Guard

I’ve grown so tired of
Twiddling my paws,
I dream of becoming
A guard in the pros.
 
They put up a flier
At our entry door:
Is wanted a dog
To watch over the store.
 
You’ve known me for ages,
I am a brave pup:
I knock a cat down
Each time it shows up.
 
I’m real good at yapping,
I’m able to roar,
And I can distinguish
A friend from a foe.
 
All kittens avoid my house
Like fire.
So answer me honestly,
Will I be hired?
