Show us the right path
To God, and guide us through night!
You give sight to those blinded by error
Who were lost to sin and knew but terror,
Yet they see their guilt and the world, fairer
Thanks to you, of mercy the sweet bearer...
Pride led to darkness,
Wicked distraction
And horrid starkness,
Which needed swift retraction!
Oh Holy Mary,
Bright Star of Daylight!
Show us the right path
To God, and guide us through night!
Show the way and, under your protection,
Let us find true glory and perfection
In the light of love, joy and reflection
Within you, kind source of pure affection!
The Lord conceded
To you, that power

For mankind's fate, sweet flower.
