The dreams of Georgia are blissful!
And mornings feel so clean and crisp:
The grapes’ incomparable sweetness
Has softly dawned upon my lips.
 
There’s nothing that I wish for badly,
I don’t regret a single thing:
I stand in bright Svetitskhovéli1
So my poor candle could be lit.
 
There, to the tiny Mtskhéta pebbles2
I will give all my voice and praise:
Oh, Lord! Please let it last forever,
Unchanged until the end of days.
 
And may it always feel so novel
When they will conjure over me:
The strict austerity of homeland,
The foreign country’s tender grip.
