Fog, quiet fog on sea and land.
Deathly silent the tidelands, deathly silent the strand.
Mourning, silent mourning covers the earth.
Soul, dear soul, remain silent and dream, too.
 

Now we will calmly tie the knot

Now we will calmly tie the knot
and go forward, honestly and upright, almost without any timidity,
and take this greatest risk in life:
Two completely intertwined lives.

from the dark celestial dome,

a hot stream breaks forth,
it can't be held back and controlled
it pours gently but firmly ...
On secret ways Spring ominously
walks through the night.
 

The evening

On russet velvet shoes he goes,
the evening, roams the weary land,
loose is his cloak, it flows and blows,
and slumber trickles from his hand.
 
With his still torch he lights anew
the faithful candles of the stars.
Be calm, my heart, now that he bars
the dark from harming you!
