Every Time a Breeze Blows
Versions: #1Every time the wind blows,
And the songbird sings the secrets of its love,
Ecstasy envelops me, and love incapacitates me,
Like a moth that does not understand what's happened to it.
Forge my heart a dream,
From the light of dawn and the darkness of dusk,
Carry me away from the misery of the world,
As a breeze carries the scent of daffodils.
Has the time of love returned,
The time where roses smiles,
When we would steal chances to meet, and the night was beautiful,
With songs of the season..
When we came to see him, he appeared ill,
And changed to silken clothes.
His eyes lit up like magic,
As the morning sun illuminates a brilliant day.

Oh Moon, You and I
Oh moon, you and I are friends since we were kidswe loved our moon and lived together, oh
and oh how much we colored our skies
And we planted our love, oh
my eyes thought about love, and the sweet one is waiting for us
our arcs laughed with flowers on both sides
talking is just talking and love stories are told when we think about them
we thought about love at home, they told us to be careful
tomorrow, the world will become aware of secrets that aren't secrets
many stories are told, a dream that came to minds

I trust you
I trust you.I believe in you.
And that’s enough
I mean, what more could
you want from me?
I dream of you.
I have passion for you.
And that’s enough.
I mean, what more could
you want from me?
I swear. I’ll die for you.
Believe it if you can.And what’s enough. What more could you want from me if I died for you? Could there really be something more? I don’t have any thing more than that. Could there really be something more? I don’t have anything more than that. I mean every sentence is ending with you. I trust you and that’s enough. I love you like no one ever loved or will ever love. I love you like no one ever loved or will ever love. And you think it’s no big deal. Nothing significant about it. I try but I can’t understand what got me so hung up on you. I write poetry for you. I write prose for you.
And what’s enough. I mean, what more could I write for you? Could there really be something more? I don’t have anything more than that. I mean every sentence is ending with you. You talk to me like a little child and you ignore me a lot. You talk to me like a little child and you ignore me a lot. If one morning would think to call me. Tell me what is getting me so hung up on you!
I trust you.
I believe in you.
I mean every sentences, talks and say are for you!

I Sing [for] Mecca
Versions: #1I sing [for] Mecca and its proud people
as the Feast fills my bosom with a feast
They rejoiced, and under every sky
gleamed houses, joining the House of Guidance [in gleaming]
And by the name of the Lord of the Universe,
their buildings rose, stretching like a shooting star
O you who reads the Quran, pray for them—
My people are there—and fill the desert with a beautiful fragrance
Whoever kneels with their hands held together
Surely the door [to the sky] will not remain closed [to them]
My eye sees, wherever humans pray,
the heavens opening up generously
If a speck of sand sang for its Creator,
I would be the oud to its song
There the sounds of the pilgrims have become louder, so join yourself to my singing mouth here and let us sing
And Lord, shower all people with your generosity
whether they be white—for you never differentiate—or black
Do not leave any land infertile
Rather make all land produce a pleasant essence
The Earth, My Lord, is a rose, promised for You to pick, so water and invigorate what is promised [to You]
And the beauty of Your Face is what all hope to see
while all else is of no use

Bird of Sorrow
I am, O bird of sorrow, stateless like your eyesFeeling like a child, kidnapped by drowsiness early in the night
Feeling alienated and joyful, like ships traveling upon the sea
Stateless and homeless, your eyes are my home
Coming back from a song, O time lost in time
Her voice cries so I hold it, between the flowers of silence and weakness
From the borders of yesterday, O dream, a bird on a branch visited me
What an illusion you live in, you were in my thoughts and also weren't

We Used To Have a Mill
oh how beautiful were the nightsand the air used to keep waiting for us
you come and find me, and they take us away..
the sound of water and the nights
we used to have a mill next to the spring of water
and in front of it there were a lot of shady fields
and my grandfather used to grind for the neighborhood..
wheat and flowers
and people stayed in these fields
sometimes they had bags and sometimes they had trollies
they went and came along the way
and songs were rumbling
oh
oh soirees of the nights
oh
oh sweet one who I'm thinking of
sing oh
sing oh
sing along the ways
yay yay yay
oh soirees of the nights
yay yay yay
oh sweet one who I'm thinking of
sing oh
sing oh
sing along the ways
days passed, and slowly,
the mill next to the water became silent
and my grandfather became the mill of memories
grinding sun and shade
oh
oh soirees of the nights
oh
oh sweet one who I'm thinking of
sing oh
sing oh
sing along the ways
yay yay yay
oh soirees of the nights
yay yay yay
oh sweet one who I'm thinking of
sing oh
sing oh
sing along the ways

Nighttime gatherings
Versions: #1How beautiful the nights were
Where the wind would stay waiting for us
And you'd come and find me and it'd take us far away1
[Oh,] the clamor of the water and the night...
We used to have a mill at a water-spring
And in front of it were piazzas planted with shade
And Grandpa used to mill for the district
Wheat and spices...2
And the people would stay in those squares
Some with bags and others with carts
Coming and going all along the road
Clamoring with song...
Oh!
O, to stay up the night3...
Oh!
O, so sweet in my mind...
Sing -- oh!
Sing -- oh!
Sing in the streets!
Hey, hey, hey
O, to stay up the night...
Hey, hey, hey
O, so sweet in my mind...
Sing (oh!)
Sing (oh!)
Sing in the streets!
And the days went by, and little by little
The mill went silent on the shoulder of the water
And Grandpa became a miller of memories
Grinding sunlight and shade...
Oh!
O, to stay up the night...
Oh!
O, so sweet in my mind...
Sing -- oh!
Sing -- oh!
Sing in the streets!
Hey, hey, hey
O, to stay up the night...
Hey, hey, hey
O, so sweet in my mind...
Sing (oh!)
Sing (oh!)
Sing in the streets!

My Mother is the Call of Tenderness
My mother, my mother is the call of tendernessand the serenity of safety
and the happiest dream
my mother
during the sorrow of the heart
and in the nights of insomnia
the sweetest thing that I say is..
'my mother'
when I'm singing my melody
in the calmness of wishing
the most beautiful son that I sing is..
'my mother'

Oh my Heart, don't Make your Heart tired
oh my heart, don't make your heart tired, I will always love youyou go away a lot
then you come back to the stairs of Baalbek
oh my heart, don't make your heart tired, I will always love you
you're walking and the moon is walking, and you're sending letters
oh my heart that is like a butterfly around lamps
you don't know the glow of fire and you don't continue the journey
and you're confused when it comes to love, you go and come back to Baalbek
who woke me up from sleep..
and took me to your eyes from the first day
who am I and who are you? we are the forgotten ones
and my way took me away from your way

I Loved You So That I Forgot Sleep
Versions: #2I loved you so that I forgot sleep
My fear is that you will forget me
You locked me up outside of sleep
And left me staying awake into the night
I loved you, I loved you
I loved you, I loved you
I miss you -- I can't see you
Nor can I speak to you
I call you behind the streets
And behind the windows
I try to forget
You steal forgetfulness
And I think I have found you
Return for me what was
And everything is lost from me, I didn't find you
I loved you, I loved you
I loved you, I loved you
My fear is that I will still love you
In the coming days
And I run away from your forgetting
Don't look in the mirror
My jail is you, you are my jail
And my freedom is you
And you are what I hate
And what I love is you
I wish I had not stayed up and put you to sleep
I loved you, I loved you
I loved you, I loved you

Oh Love Of Beirut
They closed the streetsThey turned off the signals
They planted the cannons
They mined the places (squares)
Where are you my Love
After you my love
We have become crying love
We became the distances
Happy days are missing
Night nights in the streets
Traffic jams and long walks
And the reunion in the old restaurant
Oh love of Beirut, oh love of the beautiful days
Come back Oh Beirut and the past will come back
The summer after is back
And the moon is broken
Will you forget me, oh my furious love
I went back home, I did not find my house
Only smoke and corners, no roses, no fence
Departures resemble migratory birds
Lost, under the stars of the night
Do you know where our friends are
And where are the tears and the tenderness
Oh love of Beirut, oh love of the beautiful days
Come back Oh Beirut and the past will come back

My Beloved, Whenever Love Blows
My beloved, whenever love blows and the nightingale warbles the melody of its passionEcstasy wraps me up and love weakens me like a butterfly unaware of what has happened
Create a dream for me, my darling, from the gleam of the dawn and the last line of darkness
Round me up from solitude of life like the waft rounded up the attar of the amaryllis
Oh time of love, is there a way back to where we were before, where the parterre was all flowers smiling
Grabbing the chance and the night sweetened with songs and we were the ones time was inviting
When we came in, (time) was staggering with its silky apparel in a malingering way
Then its eyes glistened with magic just like a new dayspring shines in a sunny day
