A wolf came from the forest

A wolf from the dark forest,
Walked through our village to steal,
And I remember he promised,
That crying kids are his preferred meal.
He stopped at our door, growling,
But I came out with a stick,
-In our house, there is no crying,
-Runaway from here, and quick.
He was howling in midday,
With his tail between his legs went away.

A strange man on the streets brag,
I love only the badest kids,
See, I have a large, filled bag,
I am here to make some bids.
I went out, bluntly I said,
There is nothing here for you,
My kids are good, sleeping in bed,
And you know that this is true.
He took his bag with discontent,
and went, and went.

A merchant, full of money came,
Making confusion and a big fuss,
Proud of himself, having no shame,
The unloved kids to buy from us.
I schooled him like the others,
There is no money in this world,
Enough to buy kids from their mothers,
Out from our village was angrily hurled.
