Out of Hate
Love swung me up highAnd then let me go, like a snowball down a hill.
I rolled faster and faster
Out of hate.
I could pave the entire center of Jelgava,
Caress the head of every child,
That waits for a little warmth,
Six black cows [I could] milk every morning,
Out of hate.
Now I have to be very quiet.
Cannot hold even a single thought in my mind,
Can't let out a single groan over my lips.
Advisable to smile and to kiss acquaintances I've accidentally met
Out of hate.
I swallow pills of hate,
I drink drops of hate,
And in my hips hate gets injected.
But love has its own plans,
It throws me around the river of hate like a splinter.
The more hate soaks up in me,
The more love pours out of me.
I swallow hate like an earthworm [swallows the] dirt,
I swim in love,
Hate burns in me.
