Guildo Loves You All!

Guildo loves you all
And even if there are some tears once in a while
He'll come over and sing some songs for you
Guildo loves you all

There was a time
A time of tenderness
Back then, cuddling and smooching and loving each other
Was always a big deal

I enjoy thinking back
On this time of harmony and happiness
When every day, I added the following line to a friendship book1:
Peep, peep, peep – I like you a lot2

Guildo loves you all
And even if there are some tears once in a while
He'll come over and sing some songs for you
Guildo loves you all (Again and again)

In my little world
Where all people stick by each other
And where tears don't lie3
Dreams learn to fly

I'd really want to be there
I wouldn't be too far away from the stars
And from there, I'd send you my token of love:
Nut slices4 and strawberry ice cream

Guildo loves you all
And even if there are some tears once in a while
He'll come over and sing some songs for you
Guildo loves you all (Again and again)

I enjoy thinking back
On this time of harmony and happiness
When every day, I added the following line to a friendship book:
Peep, peep, peep – I like you a lot

Guildo loves you all
And even if there are some tears once in a while
He'll come and sing some songs for you
Guildo loves you all (Again and again, again and again)

(Guildo loves us all, again and again)
Whoa... Guildo loves you all (Again and again)
(Guildo loves us all, again and again)
Hey, Guildo loves you all

  • 1. This is a reference to a German kind of friendship book usually kept by children, who pass it around to all their friends so that each one of them adds a couple of lines to it, usually in the form of a short poem.
  • 2. This (rhyming) line is widely nonsensical
  • 3. This line is a reference to the very famous Schlager song 'Tränen lügen nicht' by Michael Holm. Guildo Horn is a devout fan of Schlager music, which represents a rather sentimental and happy-go-lucky attitude.
  • 4. 'Nussecken' () were actually popularised by this song. There was a hype in 1998 and people loved them so much that you can still buy them in many bakeries. They are still associated with Guildo Horn's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest.
