My dear old folks
My old folks have grown unnoticeably older in the usual way,And everyone has taken to calling my mama 'granny'
My father worries me more and more but pretends he is ok
There's no-one dearer to me than those two
My dear old folks, let me kiss you now
My young folks, all is not lost yet
That gray hair and those crow's feet
And wrinkles look good on you both
And I'll name my daughter and son after you
Your eyes will shine and no one can put out that fire
Because they love grandchildren more than own children
But I am not jealous at all
My dear old folks, let me kiss you now
My young folks, all is not lost yet
