The banners are faded and moth-eaten
but we've secured a sea of beer
The gumptious have piled on crate by crate
and sell them for a premium price

We struggle for better journeymen's salary and living conditions
Usually it's only the apprentice who gets nothing
- we sell him in the collective bargain every year!
We struggle for women's equality from twelve to five
then it's getting close to dinner time and we hurry home
Today the wife has cooked our favourite dish
- a man can't fight if he's not full!
