Traffic light

I finally decided on where I'm going
and it stops me from going but I still have a long way to go
Reminds me of a friend
who was furious, his face so red
 
I already started to take my steps forward
but it pushes me to go faster, I can hardly walk alright?
In the corner of my mind is a friend
who ran away, his face scared and green.
 
On the roads that look like piano keys
are all these circles, they stop and move
all at the same time, like obedient children
but I don't have a problem with that
 
Red and green, in between are 3 short seconds
of that yellow light of the traffic sign
It empties my head, I can't even decide if I'm too fast
or too slow, the yellow fills my eyes
 
To be honest I think it was better
when I was too young to drive
Cuz then, I had friends walking along me anywhere I went

but hey, I'm just a newbie alright
