Emily and the 15 Promises

1. Before you go to bed, always brush your teeth and say goodnight to your dad.

5. Don't be afraid of connecting with others. Shame is something we bear together.
 
6. Live when you want to live, die when you want to die. The value is yours to decide. Your choices are limitless. You can only believe in yourself. But make sure to become the kind of person that can bear responsibility for all of these things.
 
7. Your grades don't mean anything. Work in a place you like.
 
8. Learn how to love purely and correctly. What is correct is for you to decide.
 
9. Sometimes you need to surrender without trying to get everything for yourself.
 
10. If you are going to say something that will hurt someone, face them directly and say it.
 
11. Don't flaunt your tears around. Weakness is something to reflect on.
 
12. Watch a lot of movies, and read a lot of books.
These days are not eternal, after all. Develop your common sense through your values. Then think deeply about who you are.
 
13. When you become an adult, forget about me, your own values have to uphold you. There are a lot of things that can't be defended with reason. But the things that you believe in and the things that you love will become a truth more precious to you than anything else.
 
14. No matter what, always smile. A smile will make you stronger. But when you're sad, or when you feel like you're in pain, cry in front of somebody important to you.
 
15. There's no need to fear. There's no need to feel lonely. Take your life into your own hands. It's okay if it's full of mistakes. The only one that you can believe in is you. But make sure to become someone who can regret all of these things as well.
