The eagle
Of all the birds that fly, it is the eagle that I envy,
When i fly aloft, I seek for my beloved spouse.
Atop a high mountain I shall build my nest,
In order to observe you, my defender, seated and relaxed.
When I would fly aloft, upon you would I gaze,
whatsoever you desired I would place in your embrace.
In the years of youth we met and I took a wov,
that if God would give me lenghts of days, we would grow old together.

Nature's Song
What has become of the noblemen and lords, who changed the laws of nature,
They uprooted the bowels of the earth, they have emptied the storehouses of life,
You noblemen and lords, tell me where are the rivers and the rainfall, Ailing are the mountain trees and in the garden the wells are dry,
O cloud, he who drained you so you no longer can be filled with water, whoever poisoned you, murders all life on earth,
They sell the light of the morning star and steal a poor man's sunshine,
O God, they beat on your front door, the windows of heaven open.

Untue love
Your love was not pure, it was not pure,
my blossom, your love,
Oath upon oath, tears and caresses,
the sweet words you uttered, all lies,
Your love was not pure, it was not pure,
my blossom, your love,
Step by step with you, I also found a way to love you falsely without you realizing it,
Your love was not pure, it was not pure,
my blossom, your love,
My patience was a wonder,
I implored throughout the night for the light of day,
Your love was not pure, it was not pure,
my blossom, your love,
No longer can I live with you, my blossom,
nor do I wish to forgive you, I depart and farewell you,
Your love was not pure, it was not pure,
my blossom, your love,

Return my little bird from far-away
Return, my little bird, from far-away,
My little bird, from far-away,
come back from foreign parts.
A soul awaits you, a soul,
My little bird, a soul awaits you,
an anguished heart.
My little lamb, my little bird,
my own small bird,
My little lamb, my little bird,
my own small child,
Laden with torment.
How can I give patience,
my little bird,
to your shattered heart.

It seems you don't remember
It seems you don't remember, but it was my hand,
I reached out and gave it do you, woe to me,
After that you took my heart, my sould and more,
One by one you took them all, woe to me,
It was my hand, outside Saint George's Church,
When I first gave it to you, to cherish you,
And last of all, it was meant for me,
To give my hand to you again, woe to me,
Whoever truly loves another, will first offer his hand,
and again at the end will offer his hand, woe to me.
It was my hand, outside Saint George's Church,
When I first gave it to you, to cherish you.

Endless love
Before you depart, take careful heed and listen to what I have to say.
I can neither measure nor weigh my love for you,
It is held fast inside my heart and pierces my soul.
I will rejoice with your happiness and suffer with your pain,
And with one sigh, little bird, you strangle me.
Great is the wound you inflicted, it cannot be healed.
Just think: I am a river that is slowly drying up.
