From Gávea To The World
I don't come from Gávea, but one day I got thereBecause of a love that brought me to that place
I got used and readily decided to stay
So I buried my roots and there I planted our home
In that neighborhood where I found my girl
Life bloomed and got pleasanter for us
When our kids came to adorn
Putting some joy in this voice of mine
However, I still lacked some samba, some forró
Some choro1, and this was an issue
Having friends along to share
Spreading happiness to all this good vicinity
That was how our dance got bigger and brought over here
So many people expecting to be found
That's so good, and let me tell you something
When I go out on into the world
I know Gávea follows me all along
