Song of young nature scientists

The homeland has made herself pretty, and dew sparkles in her hair.
The waves reflect her splendour like clear happy eyes.
The meadow blooms, the fir tree rustles, they act secretively.
Quick, intercept that secret, which shall make us happy.
 
The wind also brushes through forests and fields, it whispers greetings to us.
We are on familiar terms with fishes and badgers and birdlife.
Our hand guards the plants and animals of the homeland.
And we shall reap plentiful harvest, where today still are swamps and sand.
 
We break into the darkness, follow calls and trails.
And when we'll have knowledge1, nature will yield to us.
The flower opens to the light, our heart [opens] to the future.
The homeland raises her head and smiles towards the sun.

We laugh together with the sun

When we go to school in the morning,
all the town has already woken up,
and she rubs her eyes to be awake
to see, what everybody does
