Rasakallola

Listen Oh gentlemen, the tales of Krishna
And save yourself from the staff of Yama [God of death]
Amidst Krishna's frolics [Pitabasa is is another name]
The great winter arrives
It made the days shorter
And destroyed forest of lotuses
No one could bear the cold
Everyone thought of their own ways
Lakshmi sat of Vishnu's lap [wife-husband relation]
And they covered themselves with blanket
Only then Lord of the universes [Vishnu] could be at peace
With the Chakra and Conch [Shankha] in his hands

Taking some of his light
The sun moved towars the south
He's afraid of the cold
He sparkled before each and every house
The happy men worshipped him
But yet someone said 'what to do about his winter?'
And as he said that, the winter entered its fullest
Shivering, he folded his hands
Everyone loved warm waters
And everyone feared cold waters
To stop the fog from getting inside
Everyone sealed their homes
Gradually, the love for moon & sandalwood disappeared
As fires danced outside the homes
A troubled man said, 'Damn, it was horribly cold yesterday'
'When will this damned pain go away'

That's how the winter gradually descended upon the earth
The dark-hued Krishna walked through the foggy roads
In that form,Krishna
Plays with the Gopis in Gopa
Ponder over Krishna's form
And sing his deeds
And listen to his tales
And know the world to be him
Says Dinakrushna [the poet] in Rasakallola book
Fix your mind on Krishna
