Sit down and listen to a penury
Sit down and listen to a penury,Have a little drink
And if you want to drink some clay as well, wait a little
Take a turn, maybe you won't provoke anyone
It won't be serious for us, and you'll lose your turn1
And if you don't like everything I've told you at first
The clay is ready, and Christos has the floor2
- 1. As in, if the person doesn't provoke anyone, they will lose their turn to tell a tale
- 2. This probably has a dual meaning. Considering that a switch of the accent would turn 'Christos' into 'Christ', this line probably means that the person listening to the penury, if they don't like it, can stuff clay down their throat, shutting themselves up, so that Christos (or Christ) can speak
