Helel Yos

Helel yose, helel yose1
Helel yos, hel-o hel hel, helel yose
Helel yos, hel-o hel hel, helel yose
The blacks are drunk
Hel-o hel 7hel, helel yose
They dance with (the sound of) ney
Hel-o hel hel, helel yose
The black travel
Helel yose-lyose
They're not afraid of danger
Helel yose-lyose

Our black people are great
No stranger is allowed to join us
Oh, the black girls of our people
They've driven us crazy2

Helel yose, helel yose
Helel yos, hel-o hel hel, helel yose
Helel yos, hel-o hel hel, helel yose
Musa, who told you marry?
Helel yose, helel yose
To get yourself captivated of wife
Helel yose, helel yose
Bro, who told you marry?
Helel yose, helel yose
To make yourself wretched like that
Helel yose, helel yose

Our black people are great
No stranger is allowed to join us
Oh, the black girls of our people
They've driven us crazy2

  • 1. According to an explanation of this well known phrase in south of Iran, it's an Arabic phrase which means 'Oh upset man, sing the song of rain' it could mean 'don't give up' but as this meaning is not related to the rest of lyrics, I didn't translate it and just wrote the transliteration.
  • Lit. they set us on fire (by their charm, beauty, etc.)
