night shift
In the darkness you can't hear silence. The artifical light of the mercury lamps keeps me awake.
And my eyes won't see the dawn,
They'll shut close again.
And the key from that lock
I wouldn't want to lose.
The star of mine
It plays its part,
It's dancing in the window,
It keeps the rhythm steady.
Through the insomnia and delirium I can hear that
The ticking of the clocks gets into my head.
And my eyes won't see the dawn,
They'll shut close again.
And the key from that lock
I wouldn't want to lose.
And my eyes won't see the dawn,
They'll shut close again.
I'll keep on going through
This ritual, this cycle, on and on.
The dust is hanging in the air that has turned grey,
It will greedily consume all of the oxygen.
The sticky dirt on my hands crawls down my fingers.
The clocks say that it's almost time to sleep.
