There is love

You may lose everything
Not see a ray of light in the night
Not be able to fall in love
Even forget joy

You may lose everything
Be left without a dream
But in your song, in your song
Don't say 'The love broke down!'

There is love in this big world
Listen to me, there is love!
I see the wings of your daydream
Listen to me, there is love!

You may lose everything
Your closest friend and tenderness
Not be able to fall in love
And become a stranger to the world

Just don't lose hope
In the darkness comes a bright new day
But in your song, in your song
Don't say 'There's no road for me!'

There is love in this big world
Listen to me, there is love!
I see the wings of your daydream
Listen to me, there is love!

Gigi the Pretty One

In a small pretty village
With an Italian sky,
We were three brothers living with our sister.
Each of us had a talent
And was a good musician,
And so we used to sing at all parties.

Me on guitar,
Sandro on double bass,
And Giorgio was playing his mandolin.
Everytime she started to sing,
Our sister Gigi,
She enchanted the village with her song.

And everytime she arrives,
Everybody welcomes her with flowers.

Chorus:
There she comes, Gigi the pretty one –
With a kind heart,
With a smiling face,
With golden hair.
Gigi the pretty one –
She sings for us
With her magic voice
And she wins people's hearts.

We all would forget our grief
Whenever she sang 'O sole mio.

There she comes, Gigi the pretty one…

Gigi Giuseppina, but everyone called her Gigi the pretty one. And all the boys were crazy for her. The teacher, that lad, sometimes would leave his students in class just to see her. The tailor who never went out – except when Gigi sang. The sailor, ha-ha, yes, even the sailor got off his ship, as Gigi was hiding the horizon from his eyes.

But a man once arrived
All the way from America,
And as he said, he was a millionaire.
Enchanted by her voice,
That old gentleman
Offered to film her in Hollywood.

The next morning, all of us,
At the platform, with flowers,
Bid our farewell to Gigi with a heavy heart.
Oh, how proud she was –
She was then setting off
For the first time by train, and on her own on top of that.

And when she was gone,
The village became deserted.

There she went, Gigi the pretty one –
With a kind heart,
With a smiling face,
With golden hair.
Gigi the pretty one –
There she went
With her song
To win people's hearts.

Without her, everything became empty around here,
'Cause there was no one to sing 'O sole mio.

There she went, Gigi the pretty one…

Gigi… When the train dropped out of sight, we all went back home. On the next day, the village was no longer the same. The teacher didn't show up in class. The tailor disappeared and no one saw him anymore, and the sailor got lost again beyond the horizon. The song was gone, gone was Gigi as well.

Many days passed away,
Without dreams, without games,
All the village parties faded away as well.
Everyone got old here
And their hair turned gray,
They all forgot Gigi's song.

Only we in the night –
Three brothers, with grief
Were thinking of our sister.
Where is she now?
Maybe she's alone.
Is she singing her song to anyone?

Smiling face,
With golden hair…

Gigi…

Gigi? It's you, there in the dark. You came back, Gigi! And what about America? So you didn't make it out there, eh? America, America… But, Gigi, you are Giuseppina Luca Santini and you are Neapolitan! Gigi… Listen, Giorgio took his guitar. Gigi, Sandro is here as well! Sing, Gigi! Sing for us! This is your public, Gigi! You're at home here, Gigi! We've been expecting you, Gigi! Sing, Gigi! Sing for me, sing for them! Sing, Gigi! This is your public, Gigi! Sing, Gigi, sing!

Chorus: (×2)
There she comes, Gigi the pretty one –
With a kind heart,
With a smiling face,
With golden hair.
Gigi the pretty one –
She sings for us
With her magic voice
And she wins people's hearts.

We all would forget our grief
Whenever she sang 'O sole mio.
