Heodenings’ ballad
The unyielding trolls quicken tempo
of the ancient rhymes
dwarfs elves ghosts with
fairies sibyls witches
I had a hard struggle with
the evil prophesied thought
forests finally under oak
reached a settlement
On the hillside the sloping trunk
a broad river some wood
foliage covered the whole country
alfins hung down
The unyielding trolls quicken tempo
of the ancient rhymes
dwarfs elves ghosts with
fairies sibyls witches
Forest trolls in the wind
raised the skull on high
gushes from the storm hall
hurtled all to abomination

The Neck and the Maiden
There lived a count high up-land
He had three daughters and neat they were
-with all the right
It spread across the kingdom, its spread across the land
It spread to the Neck by the fairy-blue shore
-with all the right
The Neck he could, after all, dress so nicely
And so he rode forward so that the mountains rang
-with all the right
Reins of silk and bridle of gold
and the horses stood stomping like lions on dirt
-with all the right
And so he rode to the maiden
I will give you a ring if you want to be mine
-with all the right
Diligently I wish to own you Neck
Diligently I wish to go to the thousand fairies' land
Diligently I wish to own you Neck
Diligently I wish to set course to the thousand fairies' shore
Tral...
The maiden takes the ring and follow the Neck
And so they rode forward so that the mountains rang
-with all the right
The Neck rode past a church as they went
They admire his woman, they admire her man
-with all the right
To church, the fair maiden wished to go
Your best queen should be more than a thousand fairies' blue
-with all the right.
Diligently I wish to own you Neck
Tral...
And so he rode the maiden trough the rivers
the earth shook and mountains cracked
-with all the right
Tral...
