• 1. I took a few liberties in translating this line to make it sound prettier in English. This whole stanza sounds really sweet in its original Japanese and I wanted to preserve that.
• 2. The original verb used here, 行け, refers to coming toward something rather than leaving it and is thus likely directed at the subject of the song rather than the suffering they are experiencing.
• 3. The word I translated as 'friend' would be more directly translated as 'person', but the sounded cold when 'person' was used.
• 4. This line was pretty difficult to translate. My translation fits the stanza and theme of the song, but I'm not 100% sure it's correct.
• 5. This probably refers to the strength of the subject persisting in the face of their suffering.
• 6. I translated this metaphor comparing hugs and flowers literally. I'm no poet and I certainly couldn't come up with a better image than that.
