Lamps

High be the Four Moors on our flag
Stony and majestic, of a proud land
The Island of the wind that looks out at the comets
People of the sea who worshipped stones
Mysterious nuraghes,1rural engineering
The fairies of those places invite you to dance
Time has stood still, but music is in the heart
Frolicsome is the dance, to the beat of the choirs 2
Bom-bim-bom jellerilleah…

Heaven on earth, they call you Sardinia
Spell of beauty, ensign of values
You’ve fought throughout history, proud and brave
The good Sardinian people don’t know any fear
They respect the culture of tradition
May every song be a sign of good luck
The bright flag honored by these hearts
Is present everywhere: it’s the Four Moors3
Bom-bim-bom jellerilleah…

Sing, sing, go ahead
Come and dance now
If we dance all together
Let’s sing “A duru duru” 4
To enhance happiness
Don’t stop singing
Now come and invite a drink
To this nice company
To enhance happiness
Don’t stop singing
Go dance, go dance…

Say it yourself

A bad dawning in the morning
It was a day like many others
Look, what a destiny!
As a witness, only stones
They killed them for no reason,
Just for some lie. Not worth it.

[Ref.]
Say it yourself1
Why did you mourn?
Say it yourself
Are they proud of it?
Killing two men
Is not a bravery
There is more courage
In forgiving

The bells are tolling the death knell
The whole village is mourning
How many fathers and mothers
Will still weep and sob?
They give no value to life anymore
They have more respect for a lamb

[Ref.]

Ruined houses that seem to stand
And the memories come to mind
Small candles and many Masses
Hoping that someone may return
How many crosses have still to be raised
Before the time for peace comes?

Tears of Fire

When those flames are rising
The sleeping wind gets up
Then you have to fear for your fate
Because a wind is blowing, a wind of death

This land that they are burning
Is filling with glowing ash
We are sowing fire embers
The bells are ringing the dead knell

That hand that kindled the fire
Has destroyed every kind of life
Centuries-old woods with no chance
A hell that brings death

That hand that kindled the fire
Has destroyed every kind of life
People and animals in a bunch
All together for the extreme unction1

When perhaps they will realize
It will be too late to improve
Our sons, like lost birds
Searching for food in the deserts

How many villages are crying for these damages
How many sons lost over the years
The tears that fall from eyes
Will never extinguish those fires

That hand that kindled the fire
Has destroyed every kind of life
Centuries-old woods with no chance
A hell that brings death

That hand that kindled the fire
Has destroyed every kind of life
People and animals in a bunch
All together for the extreme unction

Birimbamboi birimbambombam
Birimbamboi birimbambom

They have set fire
To my village mountains

They have set fire
To my village mountains

~~~~~~
That hand that kindled the fire
Has destroyed every kind of life
Centuries-old woods with no chance
A hell that brings death
That hand that kindled the fire
Has destroyed every kind of life
People and animals in a bunch
All together for the extreme unction
