4 a.m.

At 4 a.m. music ends
Tables are wet, cloths on the floor
René is trying to get weed, no one has anymore.
We´re getting back by the first morning train.

Leaning by a trash can I´m looking around at the curb
next to the road from this hole.
Then I come back, I don´t know if I´m loosing anything when I´m walking around half of my life
in the middle of this hole.
Leaning by a trash can we´re looking around at the curb¨
next to the road from this hole.
I don´t know if you know it too, when I see clouds I always really feel like
getting out of this hole.

And I´m trying in vain to remember what i wanted a long time ago
maybe nothing so special, but definitely not this.
I´m just trying in vain to remember to where I left
and didn´t come back and got lost and lost something.
And he´s trying in vain to remember what he wanted a long time ago
maybe nothing so special, but definitely not this.
He´s just trying in vain to remember to where he may left
and didn´t come back and got lost and lost something.

Save your souls

souls soaked by rain
are coming back from work
bus doesn´t come
so they talk for a while
words don´t mean anything
and the souls know that
the answers are still missing
it stops raining - in the town in the middle of nowhere

save your souls
your souls
save your souls
your souls

cars are splashing from puddles to pants
life is rolling and the souls are full of envy
they end up in a powerless hug
nobody has done anything and no one knows anything

save your souls
your souls

rebels got mild
America is round the corner
what I don´t have i´ll order for me
exit by underpass
hapiness in three weeks
from the delivery service
thousands of thankful letters
there´s only one missing

and people are sitting
in front of a sweet-shop
crushing desserts with spoons
drinking coffee
and they´re fine it seems
strollers to the strollers room
lodgers to the lodge

save your souls
your souls
save your souls
your souls

Dung Beetle

I’m waiting in a marble hall under a crystal chandelier
Falling asleep like an anesthetized patient in an operating room
Bank accountants examine all my shortcomings
I slip behind dusty ficuses in this deadly silence

It was Monday and my strength was already running low
It was Monday and I was thinking of Sunday

I’m sipping my free coffee from a cup on the flower deck
Pale faces bear the message: It’s going to be ready soon! Just a moment more!
I get it—the general manager was struck down by a butterfly
And then his shoelace snapped and he hasn’t arrived yet
So I’m kinda ashamed for feeling nothing but anger, but I can’t and don’t want to help it!
I’m like a dung beetle, rolling his ball of dung angrily on

And a cardboard family stood motionlessly amidst the orchids
Life-sized, a role model of lifetime happiness
The woman—a sourpuss who’s always envious unless she’s asleep
And the man dreaming of a deserted island and a crate of beers
Both of them smiling forcibly, wearing branded sweatpants,
Squeezing their kids in a life ring of a hug
And I’m slowly running out of air…

It was Monday and my strength was already running low
It was Monday and I was thinking of Sunday

Finally the gong went off
And my code flashed across the screen
But I sat unmoving, furiously staring at the tips of my shoes
Then I left for home, walking past the other banks and stores
And along the way, I bought you a small cactus, a big pizza and pistachios to go with it!

So I’m kinda ashamed for feeling nothing but love, but I can’t and don’t want to help it!
I’m like a dung beetle, rolling his ball of dung lovingly on

They Felt Best

They felt best
When the didn’t know what they were doing
They just met
And it didn’t sound half bad

So they tried
and really enjoyed themselves
They just were
and time went by just fine

I’ll think about where things go when you let them be
If it’s all just a breath of air, like the nights we’d spend together
On the stairs in the dark

Then they disappeared
and didn’t see each other for a while
They just phoned
and we're poorly off

And when they got back,
the passion had long burned out
They just fell asleep—
sometimes together, sometimes next to each other

(×3)
I’ll think about where things go when you let them be
If it’s all just a breath of air, like the nights we’d spend together
On the stairs in the dark

Think about where things go when you let them be
If it’s all just a breath of air, like the nights we’d spend together
On the stairs in the dark
