- 1. 'valge' means white, so I interpreted the word to mean 'fair-skinned'. No idea what '-manse' means, it's probably a now-defunct inflection. Didn't find it anywhere on the web, either.
- 2. lit. diligently. It's an interesting turn of phrase.
- 3. lit. I have time + scarcely. Not the same as 'I have scarcely any time', though. 'Time is in short supply for me', perhaps.
- 4. lit. 'do you want to come to me' which means 'do you want to be mine is marriage', but the expression is perhaps not so ceremonious. It's still a solemn question, but simply put.
